The most annoying apps in the world
While the app industry continues its triumphant conquest of the planet with app downloads averaging 250 million per day, clients tend to be more demanding. There’s even a study by Electronics Hub investigating this trend and detecting which apps have the least appeal to users.
Reasons for this lack of love vary ranging from well-grounded and objective, such excessive bot accounts, overwhelming ads, or poor updates to personal ones, such as disappointment coming from using Tinder or playing Roblox games. As a matter of fact, it’s more of a love-hate relationship as despite their “strong disapproval”, users keep utilizing these apps.
Here’s some stats broken down by key pillars:
Popular apps
Roblox tops the rating as the most hated app in 21 countries, followed by Tinder and Reddit.
Social media
The top-3 most hated apps is headed by Facebook Messenger (33 countries), with Reddit and Twitter keeping slightly behind (31 and 25 countries, respectively).
Dating
The unrivaled “leader” in this category is Tinder (users in 29 countries named it the most irksome dating app). Which is far ahead of #2 (Bumble) and #3 (OkCupid). These top the “hate rating” in 15 countries only.
Entertainment
Steam is considered the most irksome entertainment app in 25 countries. Disney +, Netflix, TikTok and Hulu keep just behind.
Mobile games
Roblox and Homescrapes top the “hate rating” in 28 and 24 countries, respectively. Their closest “competitors'', Genshin Impact, Clash of Clans, and Gardenscapes, lag behind (they are regarded as the most hated apps in just 14, 12, and 11 countries).
That was just a glimpse at the treasures excavated by the Electronics Hub team. Don’t hesitate to plunge into the full study and scrutinize more maps and graphs. Careful: the maps are so meticulously detailed that you’d better arm your eyes with a magnifying glass! Anyway, it’s a perfect way to pass away a cold Autumn evening, and, perhaps, to make some valuable conclusions.
